Post-Schema Validation Infoset

All hail the PSVI There are a number of presentations at conferences under the title XML 1.0 + XSD = XML 2.0, and suggestions that the extra information provided by XML Schema is fundamental to XML processing.
XSLT 2.0 The first goal listed in the XSLT 2.0 requirements is "Simplify manipulation of XML Schema-typed content." Given recent resistance to (and cancellation of) XSLT 1.1, it will be interesting to see how this goes.
XPath 2.0 XPath 2.0's first requirement is also "Simplify manipulation of XML Schema-typed content."
XML Query The XML Query working group comes from a background steeped in schemas, and it will be interesting to see how their solutions deal with the PSVI. So far, they've bound themselves slightly less tightly than the XSLT and XPath editors.
